"I Prefer Their Old Stuff"

I stumbled across this little gem while getting tracks together for the Halloween playlist I did the other week (here). It is an EP of five tracks from John Carpenter movies, the tracklisting reads like this;

1. The Bank Robbery (From Escape From New York)
2. Escape From LA Main Theme
3. Assault on Precinct 13 Main Theme
4. Halloween Main Theme
5. The Thing Main Theme

Zombie Zombie are a French electronic duo, Etienne Jaumet on synths and the rather spectacularly named Cosmic Neman on drums. With this EP they stay quite faithful to the original tunes but give them a darker more fuzzed-up edge, the John Carpenter themes naturally always had a spooky vibe to them (especially the Halloween theme) but this EP brings them up to date and makes this little half hour record a treat for film/horror buffs and just fans of electronica in general.
