February Musical Highlights

To paraphrase that old Ferrero Rocher advert; “But February, with all this great music you are really spoiling us!”

Yes, February has been quite a month for new albums that have really made me sit up and take notice, some big names too, Radiohead, Mogwai, PJ Harvey, Trail of Dead etc.

So here are a few videos as tasters of the February albums that I’ve really enjoyed (a quick mini-rant/ surely the point of a music video is to be seen by as many people as possible so they might buy your records, so why do two of these youtube vids below insist you watch them on youtube as opposed to this site?? /rant over);

Ringo Deathstarr – “So High” from their MBV-like debut “Colour Trip”;

PJ Harvey – “The Glorious Land” from her cracking album “Let England Shake”

Mogwai – “Mexican Grand Prix” from their stunning album “Hardcore Will Never Die But You Will”

…And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead – “Summer of All Dead Souls” from this month’s release “Tao of the Dead”

The Go! Team – “Buy Nothing Day” from “Rolling Blackouts”, review here;

The Twilight Singers – “On The Corner” from their first album in 5 years, “Dynamite Steps”;

Radiohead – “Lotus Flower” from their nice February surprise “The King of Limbs“;
