nope, I’ve got nothing.
I guess some people go through their life with particular songs picked out for particular moments, and I imagine one’s wedding is one these sorts of folks would have already pigeonholed. Not me though, I have never come close to getting married and it’s certainly not something that ever crosses my mind, so this post has me stumped.
But this is the internet so let’s pretend shall we? Let’s imagine I suddenly get involved in a whirlwind romance that culminates in a proposal, what would be the song I/we would choose for our “special day”?
The track that’s just popped into my head would not really be “first dance” material as it’s pretty un-danceable, but I’m sure it would fit somewhere. That tune is Death Cab For Cutie’s cover of Björk’s “All Is Full of Love” from “The Photo Album” (although it doesn’t appear to be on the Spotify version);

I had DJ Shadow – Midnight in a Perfect World at my wedding ceremony and Marlena Shaw – California Soul as my bride walked up the aisle. Most people look at me like I’m mad when I tell them that!

Very hard to come up with one because it’s a song that would be personal to you as a couple! However, I’d probably go for something quite lovey dovey. Something like “One Day Like This” by Elbow, “At My Most Beautiful” by REM, or “The Planets Bend Between Us” by Snow Patrol. 🙂
