Volume 14 kicks off with the short but unsettling track by The Haxan Cloak, the sub bass of which got all the glasses in my kitchen cabinet rattling and I didn’t even have it that loud! We then really get the party started with PSB’s never bettered track (imo) Signal 30, some comeback mbv and oh look, another John Grant track! As I said last time I was pretty obsessed with QoD having only just discovered it and couldn’t resist sharing another (they were very well received I’m happy to say).
Another Steve Mason solo track, the second best Beta Band tune (no.1’s Dry The Rain obvs), a great one from Ian Brown and a bit of Dangerdoom silliness. A rather bizarre cover version of a Bow Wow Wow tune by The Weddoes, that I also put on the last DrownedinSound nature themed CD swap, so I’ve heard this more in the last few months than ever before and probably again! Gorgeous stuff from Haiku Salut, The Notwist, Blueneck and Plaid. I’ve played this mix a lot since I burnt it for Net, another one of my faves. Listen below.
