Highlights of Volume 49, the penultimate mix: A nice father and son couplet, Tim Buckley doing the original version of “Song To The Siren” that was beautifully covered (and in my opinion improved) by This Mortal Coil, followed by Jeff’s cover (and in my opinion improved) version of Leonard Cohen’s “Hallelujah”. There’s also a bit of 90s nostalgia with Roni Size and The Chems, a track from The Field (not sure how the long, repetitive electronic loops of that one went down) and the penultimate mix closes with a great track from the Mark Lanegan/Greg Dulli collaboration of a few years ago.
